Imperial Grass Limited is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Garden Surveyor to visit prospective clients, assess their gardens and confirm that our quotations and proposed work are accurate.
You will normally complete a minimum of five client visits per day, travelling between appointments in a company vehicle. This is a practical, customer-facing position that requires accurate measurements, good communication skills and a clear understanding of what each client wants to achieve.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit clients at their properties, normally completing at least five surveys per day.
- Accurately measure gardens and calculate areas in square metres.
- Assess access, levels, drainage, ground conditions and other factors that may affect the proposed work.
- Confirm that the quotation provided to the client is accurate.
- Identify any additional work, materials or access requirements that were not included in the original quotation.
- Discuss the client’s requirements and ensure that the proposed project meets their expectations.
- Take clear photographs, measurements and detailed survey notes.
- Explain our services professionally and answer clients’ questions.
- Where appropriate, help the client proceed with the project and close the sale.
- Communicate survey findings clearly to our office and installation teams.
- Drive the company vehicle safely between appointments.
Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Confident calculating measurements and areas in square metres.
- Excellent attention to detail, as all measurements must be precise.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Able to understand clients’ requirements and explain proposed landscaping work clearly.
- Available to work Monday to Friday.
- Reliable, organised and comfortable managing several appointments each day.
- Previous experience in landscaping, artificial grass, construction, groundworks, surveying or a similar industry is preferred.
- Sales experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Working Hours and Pay
Working hours will vary depending on the number and location of appointments scheduled each day. This position is paid at an agreed day rate, calculated to meet at least the applicable National Minimum Wage for the hours worked.
Additional commission will be paid when the surveyor successfully closes an eligible job with a client, providing the opportunity to increase overall earnings.
Pay: £26,386.80-£63,609.42 per year
