JOB ROLE: Quantity Surveyor
LOCATION: Canterbury, Kent
SALARY: £65k - £70k + competitive package
START DATE: July 2026
About the Role:
RGM Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an award winning Regional Contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-quality care home development from inception through to completion, playing a key role in the commercial management of the scheme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, valuations and final accounts. Working closely with the project and site teams, you will help ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing project costs throughout the full construction lifecycle
- Preparing and reviewing budgets, forecasts and cost reports
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Assessing subcontractor applications and processing payments
- Managing valuations, variations and final accounts
- Supporting the delivery team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors professionally and effectively
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating at Quantity Surveyor level within the construction industry
- Strong track record in delivering schemes from pre construction stage through to final account
- Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and financial management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team
