Job Summary
Scarsdale Solicitors is seeking a proactive and independent Credit Controller to join our busy team. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing their own workload, handling financial processes with accuracy, and communicating assertively yet professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances. You will play a key part in ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the firm’s operational efficiency.
You don’t need formal credit control qualifications — but you do need confidence, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. If you’re reliable, assertive and able to take initiative, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact clients regarding outstanding balances in a professional and supportive manner
- Manage payment plans, monitor due dates and follow up on overdue accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and update internal systems
- Work closely with the accounts team to reconcile payments and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare reports on outstanding balances, payment trends and account status
- Liaise with solicitors, clients and external agencies as needed
- Handle inbound queries relating to invoices, payments and account information
- Support general administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operations
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with clients
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
- Previous credit control, collections or administrative experience is helpful but not essential
- Basic understanding of invoices or financial processes in a legal firm is an advantage
