A.R. Richards is a well-established and respected waste management company with a strong reputation for professionalism, reliability, and customer service. We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Driver / Trainer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Class 1 - 2 driver who is passionate about developing others, promoting safe driving standards, and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HGV driving duties as primary role.
- Deliver on-road coaching and driver assessments.
- Good understanding of RAMS, Health and Safety and general legislation.
- Train and mentor new and existing drivers to company and industry standards.
- Support driver inductions and ongoing development programmes.
- Knowledge of Tipper, Skips, RORO and Euro Bin Vehicles
- Promote best practices in road safety, compliance, and fuel-efficient driving.
- Monitor driver performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with DVSA, Working Time Directive, and Driver Hours regulations.
- Assist with maintaining accurate training records and documentation.
- Support transport management with driver development initiatives.
Essential Requirements :
- Valid HGV Class 1 and 2 licence.
- Current Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph card.
- Proven experience as a HGV driver.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and driver compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Professional, positive, and approachable attitude.
- Excel/Word - basic I.T competent
Desirable:
- Previous driver trainer or assessor experience.
- HIAB Certificate
- Recognised driver training qualification.
- Experience delivering Driver CPC training.
- Ability to support driver recruitment assessments.
