What More UK Limited is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of plastic injection moulded and pressed metal housewares. Based in Padiham, Lancashire, we design, manufacture and distribute a wide range of household products to retailers across the UK and international markets. As our e-commerce and online retail channels continue to grow, we are seeking an organised and proactive E-commerce Credit Controller to support the finance function and help maintain strong customer relationships.
Role
The E-commerce Credit Controller will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, reconciling payments received from online marketplaces and e-commerce customers, and reducing credit risk while supporting sales growth. The role requires close collaboration with the finance, sales, customer service and e-commerce teams.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Control
- Proactively manage and collect outstanding debts from e-commerce and online retail customers.
- Monitor customer accounts and ensure invoices are paid within agreed credit terms.
- Maintain accurate records of customer communications, payment arrangements and account activity.
- Resolve queries and disputes that may delay payment.
- Produce regular aged debt reports and highlight potential risks.
E-commerce Account Reconciliation
- Reconcile payments received from online platforms and marketplaces.
- Investigate payment discrepancies, chargebacks, deductions and claims.
- Match payments to invoices and customer accounts accurately.
- Ensure customer ledgers remain up to date and accurate.
Credit Risk Management
- Assess new customer credit applications and recommend suitable credit limits.
- Monitor existing customer creditworthiness and payment performance.
- Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate action where necessary.
- Assist with reducing bad debts and improving cash collection performance.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate customer records within the ERP/accounting system.
- Prepare weekly and monthly debtor reports.
- Support month-end procedures, including account reconciliations.
- Assist with audit requirements and finance team projects when required.
Customer Service
- Build positive professional relationships with customers.
- Respond promptly to customer account enquiries.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or sales ledger.
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of credit control processes and debt collection techniques.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience working with e-commerce customers, online retailers or marketplace platforms.
- Experience using Sage 200.
- Knowledge of VAT and customer account management.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
