Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Warehouse Operative.
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
About the role
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of cargo throughout our warehouse and port operations. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of freight, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting the smooth flow of goods from arrival through to dispatch. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential.
You will be responsible for
Safely loading, unloading, moving, and storing cargo within the warehouse, yard, and port areas using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment.
Operating warehouse machinery, including forklifts with paper clamp attachments and tugmasters (where authorised), ensuring all equipment is used safely and in line with company procedures.
Carrying out cargo inspections, tally stock, identify and report any damage or discrepancies, and maintain accurate records using handheld devices and warehouse management systems.
Working collaboratively with the Gatehouse team, Warehouse Shift Leader, and colleagues to ensure cargo is processed efficiently and customer service standards are met.
Supporting cargo handling activities on the quayside and aboard vessels when required, while maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
