This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, working at the Farm premises in North Elmham. Looking after our ever expanding livestock, including ewes and cows, ensuring high standards of welfare. This is a full-time role with some weekend work required.
You will be required to:
- Herd or move livestock to desired locations
- Weigh and measure foodstuffs, and mix feed, additives and medicines in prescribed portions.
- Monitor and re-fill food and water supplies for all livestock.
- Drive lorries, tractors and other equipment.
- Clean barns, sheds, pens, yards and equipment.
- Groom, clip, trim, shear, and mark livestock.
- Examine animals to detect illness, injury or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain.
- Care for sick animals, treat minor ailments and administer medications, vaccinations or insecticides as appropriate.
- Perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate timeframes and helping with animal births.
- Keep records on animals, e.g. about feeding and breeding.
- Maintain farm machinery and buildings.
- Any other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience of working in a Livestock role
- Enjoy working outside with livestock
- Be physically fit
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a Livestock / Farming role - Essential
- Driving License - Essential
- Telescopic Rough Terrain Handler Cert – Desirable
- Safe Use and Application of Vet Meds Cert – Desirable
