Wall-lag is a family owned and operated business which has been in operation since 1974, based in Mold, North Wales. Originally providing insulation, the company expanded into manufacturing and installing double glazed doors, windows and conservatories, then in 2008 it diversified into renewable technology. In recent years the renewable activity has increased significantly installing Air Source Heat pumps, Solar PV and EV charging stations.
The company has a number of contracts with Local Housing Associations, Local Authority Councils and Utility Providers to support them in delivering their renewable energy strategies.
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Control Administrator to support the effective management and control of stock across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring inventory levels, investigating discrepancies, and supporting the smooth flow of stock through the organisation.
The role requires strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse, purchasing, sales, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records across internal systems.
- Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, excess stock, and potential availability issues.
- Process stock movements, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Assist with regular stock counts, cycle counts, and full stocktakes.
- Reconcile stock data and ensure all adjustments are accurately recorded and authorised.
- Liaise with warehouse and operational teams to resolve stock-related queries.
- Support the purchasing team with stock availability and inventory information.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess stock and report findings where appropriate.
- Produce regular stock reports and provide accurate information to management.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and supporting documentation.
- Ensure stock control procedures and company processes are consistently followed.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve stock accuracy and inventory processes.
- Support audits and provide relevant stock documentation when required.
- Carry out general administrative duties within the stock control and operations function.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in stock control, inventory administration, warehouse administration, logistics, trade counter or a similar role.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other computer-based systems.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify errors.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable:
- Experience using Simpro or stock management systems.
- Experience working within renewables or building supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of stock control principles and inventory processes.
- Experience producing stock reports and analysing inventory data.
Pay: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
