Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently picking and packing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a fast-paced warehouse environment, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and ensuring high standards of quality control. Previous warehouse experience experience is required, and onsite training will be provided.
The main duties of this role are to pick and pack products from the warehouse for dispatch with couriers or collection from customers, this includes (but is not limited to) the following:
Main Duties:
- Use the warehouse system to pick and pack orders of stair parts
- Make sure all the orders are picked and packed in a timely fashion
- Assist with the unloading, scanning into stock and the putting away of large containers of stock
- Assist with stock taking duties
- Maintain a working knowledge of company products and services, and offer support and information to team members, customers and stakeholders when required
- Adhere to safe working practices and report any Health and Safety issues to the Company
- Any other duties deemed reasonable to assist with the smooth running of the warehouse as and when required.
Person Specification
Types of experience and specific knowledge required for this role:
- The ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative and working independently
- Good attention to detail
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Good accuracy and organisational skills
- The ability to work to targets and deadlines and be able to multitask
- Good timekeeping
- Previous experience of using an electronic picking and packing system would be an advantage
- IT skills (specific as required)
- The ability to be flexible and have a ‘can do’ attitude
- Fork lift truck driving licence is desirable
Pay: £12.71 per hour
