Duties
As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a portfolio of Civil Engineering and Groundworks projects, leading site teams and ensuring contracts are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This will include:
- Leading and supporting Site Managers and project teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple sites
- Planning and coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontract resources to meet project programmes and client requirements
- Monitoring contract performance, programme and costs, identifying risks early and taking decisive action to protect delivery and commercial outcomes
- Ensuring all projects comply with Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management standards
- Working closely with the commercial team to manage variations, valuations, cost control and recovery of entitlement
- Maintaining a detailed understanding of drawings, specifications, scopes of work and contractual requirements, ensuring these are translated into effective site delivery
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, understanding their priorities and maintaining a professional and solutions-focused approach
- Driving continuous improvement across projects, challenging the status quo and establishing efficient working methods that reduce waste and avoid non recoverable costs.
Applicants should possess significant experience in the management and delivery of Civil Engineering, Groundworks and/or Earthworks projects, ideally with responsibility for multiple contracts or project teams. You will be commercially aware, confident managing programmes and resources, and able to lead Site Managers while remaining close enough to the detail to resolve issues quickly.
You will possess a ‘can do’ attitude coupled with the ability to challenge the status quo and make things happen. CSCS card is essential, with SMSTS accreditation strongly preferred. Driving Licence essential.

Pay: £60,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
