Job Summary
We are looking for reliable and skilled Carpenters to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for constructing, installing and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, working across various construction sites. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine project requirements and materials needed.
- Measure, cute, shape and assemble wood, wood substitues and other materials for construction projects.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, molding and hardware using hand and power tools.
- Erect building frameworks including walls, floors and door frames.
- Check finished work for accuracy, quality and alignment with specifications.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance to exsisting wooden structures and fixures required.
- Work collaboratively with other trades people, site managers and project managers to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and site policies.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep the work area clean and organised.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Carpenter within the construction industry.
- NVQ level 3.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools and materials.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and plans.
- Understaning of health and safety practices on construction sites (CSCS card is preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Pay: £13.50-£18.50 per hour
