Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative and Forklift Driver (articulated) to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves managing stock, operating forklifts safely, and supporting the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess relevant warehouse experience, the ability to handle physical tasks with precision and safety, aswell as pick & pack.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety protocols
- Load and unload goods from lorries, containers, and storage areas efficiently
- Handle materials using appropriate manual techniques and mechanical aids
- Assist with stock organisation, storage, and retrieval within the warehouse
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems
- Support shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and report any faults or issues
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is highly desirable
- Proven competence in operating forklift trucks safely (licence preferred)
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures, including load & unload operations
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within a large warehouse setting
- Experience with shipping & receiving processes is beneficial
This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Candidates should be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment while maintaining high standards of organisation and efficiency.
Hours: 10am-7pm
Days: Monday - Friday
Location: SG18 8BN
Expected start date: October
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
