What does the Accounts Administrator role require me to do?
- Monitor and oversee the finance inbox, ensuring all queries and financial correspondence are reviewed, actioned and responded to promptly either by yourself or delegation to the rest of the team.
- Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and internal departments to handle finance-related queries and maintain strong, positive working relationships both inside and outside our organisation.
- Process customer receipts and payments, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and allocated to appropriate clients or accounts.
- Complete regular bank and customer accounts reconciliation, including investigation of discrepencies and ensuring financial records remain accurate and up-to-date.
- Review, approve and issue customer invoiced both accurately and promptly.
- Support front-line credit control activities
- Reconcile supplier payments at month-end, ensuring payments are accurately recorded.
- Process payment for miscellaneous suppliers, bills and business expenses, ensuring that all payments are made in line with company procedures.
- Work closely with the business owner and external accountant to support the smooth running of the accounts team.
- Process, review and reconcile direct debit transactions.
- Assist with the processing and reconciliation of company credit card transactions
- Provide month-end finance support
- Maintain a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting, reconciliation and administrative tasks as required to provide general support to the accounts processes.
Personal Qualities & Skills Required:
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance administration role is essential
- Strong confidence using Xero accounting software (Training on internal security software will be provided)
- IT literate on Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and professional telephone manner - A confident communicator, able to liaise professionally with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Organisation and methodical working attitude
- Clear and confident English language writing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail
Role Details:
- Maternity cover to begin provisionally mid-October, however this is flexible based on requirements.
- Fixed term until July 2027, with possible extension to October 2027.
- Training days prior to maternity leave will be provided.
- 22.5 - 30 hours per week.
