Description
General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Inventory Control Officer to join our Supply Chain Team, based in Merthyr Tydfil. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £29,250 to £36,900 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.
Joining an established team, the successful candidate will use inventory management principles and practices to ensure timely delivery of materials and inventory accuracy.
If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:

Collaborate with internal/external teams and stakeholders to ensure material delivery within agreed KPI timescales
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory and transactions in all systems

Assist with Investigations to resolve inventory discrepancies, errors and variances

Ensure compliance with internal inventory control procedures and external regulatory requirements.

Maintain inventory databases and ERP systems with item attributes
-
Generating material updates for reporting to internal and external customers.

Assist with material forecasting by providing data and trend analysis to aid procurement decisions

Supporting company documentation for transportation to satisfy trade compliance, customs regulations and any necessary import documentation necessary in the recipient’s territory liaising with EIISS Warehouse and Transport teams

Assist with developing and maintaining processes for the effective distribution of materials

Actively contribute, make recommendations and implement continuous improvement
To apply for this role, you will require the following:

Experience of operating Oracle or PDM systems
-
Experience of working in a MoD / UK Defence environment/systems
-
Experience of working in the Customer Support / In-Service environment
-
Qualified / working towards CPIM
-
Knowledge of MRP, Bills of Material, Work Orders and Sales Order Management within an ERP System

Practical knowledge of material planning and logistics management
-
High level of competence with Microsoft Excel and analytical tools

A good understanding of Configuration Control

Current or previous UK Security Clearance
-
Awareness of ITAR restrictions and Export Controls
