Bertie and Belle is a children's hair salon group specialising in first haircuts, SEND-friendly styling and confident, child-led experiences for families across Keynsham and Bristol. We're not a salon with a kids' section, children's hair is all we do.
We're looking for someone to join us for our weekend shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 2pm. It's a great fit if you're looking for consistent weekend hours alongside other work, study, or family life.
The Role
Hands-on children's hair with first haircuts, clipper cuts, scissor trims, nervous children, excited children, and everything in between. Settling a child and making the visit genuinely enjoyable matters as much to us as technical skill, and you'll have tablets, biscuits, Xboxes, toys and books to help.
Day to Day
— Children's hair services across all ages, first haircuts to confident older kids
— Clipper cuts, scissor trims and finishing to a high commercial standard
— Building rapport with children and parents from the moment they arrive
— Working at a child-led pace, patient, never rushed
— Maintaining high standards of hygiene and tool care
What We're Looking For
— Level 2 hairdressing qualification.
— A genuine love of working with children, not just a willingness to do it
— Patience, warmth, and the ability to read a room
— Clipper experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we'll train the right person
— Reliability — families trust us with a meaningful moment
What We Offer
— £13–£15 per hour, depending on experience, plus commission on product sales and performance-based bonuses
