Finance Officer - Brookfields School - Tilehurst
£13,846 to £14,934 per annum depending on experience, plus SEN allowance £763.

Brookfields School is a vibrant, caring, and forward‑thinking special school committed to providing exceptional education and support for our pupils. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Finance Assistant to join our team and help deliver an excellent finance service and support across the school. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the Trust.
About the Role
- Manage the school's accounts payable function, from supplier orders and invoice processing through to payment preparation.
- Work closely with budget holders across the school, providing advice on purchasing decisions and value for money.
- Support the Finance Manager with budget setting, monitoring and financial forecasting.
- Produce financial reports and assist colleagues in using the Access Finance system effectively.
- Process Local Authority funding claims and invoices, helping to ensure accurate and timely income generation.
About You
- Finance qualification e.g. NVQ level 3 or equivalent by experience
- Good understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Good IT skills
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in academy/school finance (advantageous)
