Counterbalance Forklift Driver
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk (IP6)
Pay Rate: £14.56 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6.00 AM – 3.00 PM or 9.00 AM - 6.00 PM. We also have a Monday to Friday 2.00 PM - 11.00 PM Shift.
Contract: Ongoing Temporary to Permanent
Clearfield Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established warehousing company based in Ipswich.
We are seeking an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy warehouse and logistics operation. This role involves working alongside a dedicated handballing team unloading containers, ensuring stock is moved safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse and yard.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking forklift driver looking for long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position.
The Role
Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, you will support container unloading operations by working closely with a team of handballers and transporting goods safely throughout the site using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- Work alongside a handballing team unloading shipping containers
- Move palletised stock from container unloading areas to warehouse locations
- Load and unload goods from trailers and warehouse storage areas
- Transport stock safely throughout warehouse and yard locations
- Stack and store pallets within designated areas
- Carry out daily forklift safety checks and report any defects
- Follow all warehouse health and safety procedures
- Assist with stock movements and general warehouse duties when required
- Report damaged stock, pallets, or equipment immediately
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence or Certificate
- Previous Counterbalance Forklift driving experience
- Previous experience working alongside handballing teams unloading containers
- Experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy warehouse operation
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Own transport preferred due to location and start time
