Job Summary
MCC Line Logistics Ltd is a UK road haulage company specialising in container transportation and freight logistics. Operating from our office in Bexley and our operational yard in Purfleet, we provide reliable container transport services across the United Kingdom, working closely with major ports including Purfleet Port, Tilbury Port and London Gateway Port.
We are currently seeking an experienced and professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Collection and delivery of containers throughout the UK.
- Working from Purfleet, Tilbury and London Gateway ports.
- Completing daily vehicle walkaround checks.
- Ensuring the vehicle is maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition.
- Following all drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Correct use of tachograph cards and compliance procedures.
- Providing accurate ETA updates for deliveries and collections.
- Communicating effectively with the Transport Planner.
- Obtaining signatures on all delivery and collection documentation before leaving site.
- Reporting vehicle defects, incidents or delays immediately.
- Maintaining professional standards when representing the company and customers.
- Attending all scheduled shifts and maintaining reliability and punctuality.
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 25 years old
- Minimum 2 years HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving experience
- Minimum 1 year container transport experience
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) Licence
- Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Port/Docs Card for port access
- Right to Work in the UK
- Conversational English
- Maximum 6 penalty points on driving licence
- Good understanding of drivers' hours regulations
Desirable
- ADR Licence (additional payment of £25 per shift when ADR work is undertaken)
- Experience working with major UK container ports
- Strong geographical knowledge of UK road network

Working Hours
- Day and night shifts available
- Typical shifts: 12 hours
- Monday to Friday
- Start times may vary between:
- 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM
- 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Additional overtime available when operational requirements require extended journeys or weekend work.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range; £40,000 - £44,000 per year (depending on shift pattern)
