Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Gardening Assistant to support our gardening team during the summer season. This internship provides hands-on experience across various garden settings and offers the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our estate's landscapes. This is a 6 month contract, with a planned review at the end of that period
Responsibilities
- Garden Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep of formal gardens, walled gardens, vegetable plots, and greenhouse areas. Tasks include planting, weeding, pruning, mowing, watering, and general care of plants and garden structures.
- Estate Work: Participate in broader estate maintenance activities such as path care, fence repairs, and upkeep of garden fixtures to ensure the overall aesthetics and safety of the grounds.
- Seasonal Tasks: Engage in seasonal horticultural activities, including soil preparation, composting, mulching, and assisting with the propagation of plants.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the head gardener and other estate staff, contributing to team objectives and participating in planning discussions for garden development.
- Learning and Development: Take initiative in learning about plant care, landscape design, and sustainable gardening practices. Opportunities may be provided to attend workshops or training sessions.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing or walking.
