HGV Class 1 Driver UK Tramper (Mulit-drops)
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Driver to join our family run and friendly business formed in 1993. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods within the UK, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage various driving tasks, including operating curtain side trailers.

Requirements
- Full Class 1 driving License (C+E) with two year’s minimum HGV driving experience preferred
- Valid driver CPC
- Flexible approach to Work
- Experience of multi drop work / curtain sided trailers preferred
- Must be able to use a driver app to receive instructions and upload PODs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a lorry to transport goods to various locations within the UK.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation using our Qargo drivers app.
- Communicate effectively with the office regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately.
Skills
- Proven experience as a HGV driver.
- Valid commercial driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Ability to handle physical tasks.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making on the road.
