About the role
Kimroy Road Haulage is looking for a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 1 driver to join the business.
We are a small subcontracting business, so this is a little different from working for a large company. The owner works closely with his drivers, knows them personally and genuinely looks after the people who work for him. We treat our drivers with respect and as part of the family.We are looking for someone we can trust to take care of one of our trucks and represent the business properly.
This job is not just about getting from A to B. We want someone who takes pride in their work, looks after the vehicle they are given and treats the business as if it were their own.
The job
- Drive an HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Complete deliveries and collections as required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any problems.
- Keep the truck clean, tidy and well looked after.
- Complete delivery paperwork correctly.
- Follow all driving, tachograph and road safety requirements.
- Deal with customers and site staff in a polite and professional manner.
- Keep the owner informed of any problems, delays or issues.
- Take responsibility for the truck and equipment in your care.
The person we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Hardworking and responsible.
- Safety-conscious.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Able to work on their own without needing constant supervision.
- Comfortable dealing with customers.
- A good communicator.
- Someone who takes pride in the truck they drive.
- Looking for a steady, long-term job.
