Multi-Skilled Maths and English Tutor
Rate: £350–£500 per week, dependent on qualifications
Duration: 5 days per week for 6 weeks
Contract: Temporary
Learners: 14–24 years old
The Role
We are seeking a confident, motivated and enthusiastic Multi-Skilled Maths and English Tutor to support learners aged 14–24.
The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to help raise learners' attainment in Maths and English, while promoting their social inclusion, confidence, self-esteem and independence.
You will have the opportunity to support learners across a range of vocational areas and ensure they receive the appropriate level of support to access the curriculum, participate fully in learning and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and supportive Maths and English sessions.
- Support learners with varying levels of ability.
- Help learners work towards GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.
- Provide individual and small-group support where required.
- Establish positive and effective working relationships with young people.
- Monitor, support and record learner progress.
- Provide innovative and stimulating learning activities.
- Support learners with additional needs, including SEN.
- Provide tutorial and pastoral support where required.
- Contribute to individual learner targets and EHCP outcomes.
- Complete relevant administrative and learner-recording tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other members of the support team.
- Use initiative and respond to situations with tact, patience and empathy.
- Adapt teaching and support approaches to meet individual learner needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Experience delivering or supporting Maths and English education.
- Experience working with young people aged 14–24.
- Experience supporting learners with SEN or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible and adaptable approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting learners to achieve their goals.
- Applications from experienced lecturers, tutors and suitably qualified graduates are welcome.

Please note: The role involves working with learners aged 14–24.
All appointments will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check.
Pay: £350.00-£500.00 per day
