We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Part-Time Land Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of agricultural land, including cattle care and general land maintenance. This role involves a mix of fieldwork, and livestock handling. Ideal for someone with a background or interest in agriculture, livestock, or farm management. This is a temporary position.
Key Responsibilities:
Cattle Care:
- Assist with daily feeding, watering, and health checks of cattle
- Monitor herd health and report signs of illness or injury
- Support with calving, tagging, vaccinations, and record keeping
- Maintain fencing, gates, and watering systems to ensure safe and secure conditions
Land and Equipment Support:
- Assist with routine maintenance of pastures, fencing, water troughs, and access roads
- Monitor land for erosion, weed control, and general condition
- Operate basic farm equipment (e.g., ATV, UTV, tractor – if trained)
Administrative Support:
- Help coordinate supply deliveries (feed, mineral, fencing supplies, etc.)
- Support compliance with animal welfare and agricultural regulations
- Communicate updates or issues to the Land Manager in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Experience working with cattle and/or general farm work strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to safely handle livestock and perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical or fencing repair skills a plus
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
Work Schedule:
- Approx. 20 hours/week, flexible based on season and workload
- May include early mornings, weekends, or on-call hours during calving or busy seasons

Pay: £12.90 per hour
