We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the quality team in ensuring that all products meet our quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. You'll develop a strong eye for detail and a solid grounding in quality assurance, helping to maintain product integrity and support our reputation for excellence.
This is a great entry point into a quality assurance career within food manufacturing. You'll receive hands-on training and support as you build your skills, working alongside experienced QA colleagues, with opportunities to grow into more advanced QA responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily GMP audits of the warehouse, factory exterior, and office block areas
- Carry out regular checks on packing lines to ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification
- Check packing line equipment (e.g. weight checkers, metal detectors) is working correctly and calibrated as needed
- Check date coding and labelling of finished goods for accuracy, legibility, and compliance with customer requirements
- Carry out traceability tests
- Maintain product samples from daily production and check regularly for quality or defects
- Support testing of raw materials and packaging quality
- Carry out ongoing quality checks (e.g. metal detection, weight checks, product seals, barcode checks, best before dates, film alignment, glue traces, code positioning, case contents and coding), flagging and helping resolve any deviations from specification
- Accurately and promptly complete all associated quality paperwork, including Quality Finished Product and Check Weigh Forms
- Support batch-end procedures and stock reconciliation
- Help ensure production deadlines are met and wastage is minimised
- Keep your work area clean and organised
- Support training of others on equipment once fully competent
- Assist with non-conformance investigations as required
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by management
What We're Looking For
- Some experience in a quality, manufacturing, or food production environment is helpful but not essential, full training will be provided
- An interest in food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking and recording information
- Comfortable using basic measurement and checking equipment (training provided)
- Good written communication for completing quality paperwork accurately
- A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Willingness to learn and progress within a QA career path
Shift Pattern:
Monday -Friday
Rotating shifts: 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
