Sure Staffing UK is currently recruiting for Production Operatives for a TEMPORARY TO PERMANENT opportunity with a leading global industrial organisation specialising in the production of essential products and solutions for agriculture and industry.
This is a temporary to permanent position, offering successful candidates the opportunity to move into a permanent role following a successful temporary period and satisfactory performance.

- Location: Pocklington initially, moving to Howden after approximately 3 months
- Pay Rate: £15.93 per hour
- Overtime: £23.89 per hour
- Shift Pattern: Continuous rotating shifts:
- Week 1 - 6am-2pm
- Week 2 - 13:45pm-23:45pm
Contract Information – TEMP TO PERM
This is a TEMPORARY TO PERMANENT position.
You will initially join on a temporary basis. Following a successful temporary period and satisfactory performance, there is an opportunity to transfer into a permanent position with our client.
The role will initially be based in Pocklington. After approximately 3 months, the operation is expected to relocate to Howden, and the role will then continue at the Howden site.
Candidates must be willing and able to travel to Howden following the relocation.
The Role
As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the production plant.
Working as part of a collaborative manufacturing team, you will monitor production processes, operate equipment and respond to operational requirements, while contributing to product quality, continuous improvement and overall site performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production plant and process equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklift trucks and pallet trucks, where appropriately trained.
- Follow operating procedures and quality standards across all production activities.
- Identify and report process deviations, equipment faults and unsafe conditions.
- Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to support safe and efficient production operations.
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate effectively during shift handovers.
- Keep production areas clean, organised and safe.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Work in accordance with all health, safety, environmental and operational requirements.
Essential Requirements
- A strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and consistently work to quality standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work a continuous rotating shift pattern.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to work in Pocklington initially and then at the Howden site following the planned relocation.
- Reliable transport to commute to Howden following the relocation.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, process or industrial environment.
- Experience operating process plant or production equipment.
- Counterbalance forklift truck licence.
- Experience within the chemical, process or manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement practices.
