We are currently looking for a skilled and competent plumber with a productive, innovative, and co-operative approach to work to join our Shop Maintenance team.
What will my role look like?
As the Shop Maintenance Plumber, you will play an integral role in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and associated equipment across our retail estate. Your responsibilities will include carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance, diagnosing faults, repairing pipework and sanitary equipment, and helping to maintain safe and efficient shop environments.
You will play a crucial role in improving the condition of our facilities, minimising costly disruptions, and contributing to the development of maintenance strategies designed to enhance the reliability and efficiency of plumbing systems across our shops.
To assist you in carrying out your duties, a company van will be provided.
Role Duties:
- Carry out routine plumbing maintenance and respond to plumbing-related faults across the business
- Diagnose and rectify plumbing breakdowns and water system issues.
- Repair, replace, and install pipework, taps, toilets, sinks, water heaters, and associated fixtures.
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections across shop locations.
- Ensure all plumbing systems comply with relevant regulations and health & safety standards.
- Ability to deal with emergencies, breakdowns, leaks, blockages, and repairs.
- Ensure clear updates and communication with the Shop Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work carried out.
- Liaise with suppliers and order replacement parts and materials when required.
Key Skills:
- G3 unvented systems certified (Essential)
- Time-served, fully qualified Plumber (Essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in commercial and/or retail plumbing maintenance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively.
- Ability to carry out planned maintenance alongside reactive repairs, managing time efficiently under pressure.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required.
- Willingness and positive attitude towards undertaking multi-skilled maintenance tasks.
- Support other team members where necessary.
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
