We're looking for a People Advisor to join our People Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting managers and colleagues across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of managing people-related casework and providing advice and guidance in a professional environment.

Working pattern:
This role operates on a hybrid working pattern, with three days in the office and two days working from home. You'll be based in our Liverpool City Centre office on Mondays and our St Helens office on Tuesdays, with your third office day spent at one of our other locations in line with business needs.
What you’ll be doing:

Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, providing expert advice to managers and colleagues

Supporting performance management processes, including capability, development plans and use of data and systems

Lead on attendance management, including absence monitoring, return-to-work meetings and long-term cases

Providing clear guidance on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice

Build strong relationships with managers, acting as a trusted point of contact for people-related advice and support

Working collaboratively with Housing, Assets and Corporate teams to deliver a consistent HR service

Supporting recruitment, retention, talent development and apprenticeship programmes across the organisation

Contributing to People Strategy delivery, corporate initiatives and transformation projects

Assisting in identifying learning needs and sourcing appropriate training solutions

Maintaining accurate, confidential records, ensuring data integrity and audit compliance

Working in partnership with trade unions to foster positive and productive relationships

Promoting value for money through efficient processes and effective use of systems

Ensure all activity aligned with health & safety, equality and safeguarding requirements
What we’re looking for:
-
Experience working in a HR or People advisory role, providing advice and guidance on employee relations and people-related matters, with a good understanding of employment legislation and people management best practice.

Strong casework management skills, with experience managing a varied employee relations caseload, including attendance, conduct, performance, capability and other people-related matters.

The ability to assess situations, gather information, make balanced recommendations and progress cases through to resolution in line with policies and procedures.

Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, handle sensitive conversations and achieve positive outcomes.

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and maintain attention to detail.

Confidence in using a range of IT systems to maintain accurate records, produce reports and support decision-making.

A proactive, resilient and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service and continuous improvement.

CIPD Level 5 (or working towards), or equivalent experience in a HR or People Advisory role.
Interview Process:

Candidates will be invited to attend an interview, which will include a competency-based discussion exploring relevant experience, knowledge, and skills required for the role, as well as a scenario based assessment. Interviews will take place at our Liverpool City Centre Office on 3rd & 4th August 2026.
