Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Alloy Wheel Technician to join our Car Sales operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for minor repairs and refurbishment on alloy wheels, mainly fixing kerbed and damaged wheels, and maintaining alloy wheels to the highest standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a passion for vehicle aesthetics. The position involves working with specialised tools and equipment to restore alloy wheels to their original condition, ensuring customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.
Duties
- Inspect alloy wheels for damage, corrosion, and wear to determine necessary repairs
- Use hand tools and power tools to strip, sand, polish, and refurbish alloy wheels
- Repair cracks, bends, and other structural damages through specialised techniques
- Perform balancing and fitting of alloy wheels onto vehicles with precision
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist in the preparation of wheels for painting or coating processes
- Follow safety protocols at all times when handling heavy or potentially hazardous materials
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive or wheel repair is desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and files
- Experience with power tools including grinders, drills, and sanders is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy alloy wheels
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality workmanship
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior experience in wheel refurbishment or similar roles will be advantageous but is not essential
