With continued growth, new premises, and an expanding client base, we are looking for an experienced Vehicle Body Builder to join our team at Car & Commercial Solutions Ltd. We specialise in producing high-quality, bespoke vehicle conversions and body builds. Every project is different, and your craftsmanship will play a crucial role in supporting frontline services and essential industries.
About the Role
As a Vehicle Body Builder, you will be responsible for constructing vehicle bodies on chassis and delivering bespoke conversions to meet specific customer requirements. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, values precision, and enjoys working on varied, technically interesting projects.
You will be involved in building:
- Luton bodies
- Dropsides and tippers
- Bespoke commercial builds
- Public sector and emergency service vehicles
Your work will directly support industries that rely on safety, reliability, and durability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build commercial vehicle bodies onto chassis in line with specifications
- Carry out bespoke conversions for public sector and fleet clients
- Work with materials such as aluminium, steel, ply, and composite panels
- Fit components, frames, floors, bulkheads and structural elements
- Ensure all builds meet high standards of quality, safety, and finish
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines and maintain workshop efficiency
- Work independently when required, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
What We’re Looking For
This is an experienced role — candidates must bring practical background in body building, coachbuilding.
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Proven experience in vehicle body building (this is not a trainee position)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, and work methodically
- Good understanding of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, good timekeeping, and a positive work ethic
Preferable
- Full driving licence
- Own tool kit (specialist tools provided)
