We are currently looking for Class 1 HGV Drivers to work a Mon-Fri Days shift pattern to work out of our South Kirkby site.
Start times are prearranged based on multi drop and retail delivery requirements, but are likely to average between the hours of 03:00 and 07:00 each day.
Flexibility on start times is a very important part of this role.
You may be required to night out all or part of the week in a tramping arrangement.
Our Drivers are responsible for ensuring that customers receive their deliveries in a timely fashion and in good condition. Working within the frozen food supply chain you will be driving C and E category vehicles and refrigerated trailers nationwide to a range of delivery points large and small.
Our fleet’s oldest vehicle is less than 3 years old and our investment program means our trucks are renewed regularly to keep us at the forefront of industry innovation. Our fleet is predominantly Scania or Mercedes and the vast majority include in cab fridges for our Driver’s convenience.
Driving the company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner is a vital part of the role as you are representing the company on the highway in our branded vehicles. Candidates must possess a sound working knowledge of legislative and highway regulations. Would suit a friendly reliable person who is willing to work hard to get the product delivered!
You must possess a valid and clean UK Class 1 Drivers licence with no previous convictions and must have a valid up to date CPC card.
Applicants expected to have 2 years experience driving HGV C and E Class 1 vehicles and have a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
You should have good communication skills and be willing to assist customers with their deliveries. Should be flexible and willing to help out colleagues as requested to meet the needs of the business.
The role is based from our site in South Kirkby site in Pontefract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working within the frozen food supply chain you will be driving a class 1 temperature controlled vehicle based from our Wallsend site. To manage and organise designated delivery notes into route order and loading vehicle accordingly. Multi drop deliveries according to your daily schedule. Dealing with issues as and when they occur, keeping in touch with our Logistics Team to ensure we can keep our customers updated. Involves moving heavy boxes and some handballing if requested. Unload and reloading the vehicle by hand if necessary. Collecting returns. Ensuring all documentation is correct and submitted on time. Comply with hygiene, health and safety and site rules, BRC adherence and document completion.
PAY RATE & SHIFT PATTERN
The rate of pay is £839.20 per week for 5 driving shifts
Working Days (Mon to Fri)
Overtime pay is available for additional shifts.
Flexibility for nights out will be expected, and subsistence allowance is paid in this situation (£35 per night out £8.8 of this is taxable)
