We’re looking for a friendly, confident and enthusiastic Part-Time Front of House Team Member to join us at Otterburn Castle.
This is a varied hospitality role across the Castle, so no two shifts are necessarily the same. You may be welcoming hotel guests at reception, serving a relaxed breakfast, working in our bar and café, or delivering polished evening service in our fine-dining restaurant.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, takes pride in the little details and is comfortable creating a warm, personal experience for our guests.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming hotel and restaurant guests and providing friendly, attentive service
- Assisting with hotel reception, including guest check-ins, check-outs and general enquiries
- Serving casual breakfast service for hotel guests
- Providing professional, polished service during fine-dining evening service
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and confidently
- Learning our menus and being able to explain dishes and make recommendations to guests
- Serving drinks and assisting with our bar and café
- Preparing coffees and other beverages
- Processing guest payments and using our POS and hotel systems
- Helping create memorable guest experiences throughout their stay
- Setting up, clearing and resetting tables and service areas
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout guest-facing areas
- Communicating closely with the kitchen, housekeeping and wider hotel team
- Handling guest questions or concerns professionally and escalating where necessary
- Following food hygiene, licensing and health & safety procedures
About You
Previous hospitality experience is preferred, particularly within a restaurant, hotel, bar or guest-facing environment, but personality and attitude are equally important to us.
You should be:

- Comfortable switching between casual and more formal styles of service
- Reliable and punctual
- Calm and organised during busy services
- Detail-oriented and proud of providing excellent service
- A strong communicator and team player
- Willing to learn our food, wine and beverage offerings
- Comfortable working independently when required
- Flexible with working hours
Experience with fine dining, hotel reception, bar service, coffee/barista service or wine would be a bonus.
Hours
This is a part-time position with shifts across our hotel and restaurant operation.
Applicants should have flexibility to work a mixture of:
- Breakfast shifts
- Daytime hotel/reception shifts
- Evening restaurant and bar shifts
- Weekends
- Weddings, private events and busier periods when required
