Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers before plastering.
- Mix plaster to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
- Apply plaster evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels, hawks, and other hand tools.
- Utilise bricklaying and masonry skills for specialised finishing work where required.
- Operate power tools such as drills, saws, and mixers safely and efficiently.
- Perform repairs on existing plaster surfaces to restore smoothness and durability.
- Assist with related tasks such as carpentry or roofing when needed on-site.
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly after use.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades such as bricklaying or carpentry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering.
- Knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying and general construction practices.
- Ability to operate roofing or welding equipment is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary.
- Commitment to health and safety standards on-site.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are desirable but not mandatory.
