Shred Station is looking for an experienced, reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Tramping Driver to join our growing team based at our Norwich depot.
This is a dedicated Monday to Friday nights-away role, ideal for an experienced Class 1 driver who enjoys being on the road and is comfortable spending the working week away from home.
You'll be operating our articulated vehicles and carrying out collections and deliveries across the UK, representing Shred Station professionally and providing an excellent service to our customers.
Start times will typically be between 5:00am and 7:00am, depending on the route and operational requirements. The role operates on a task-to-finish basis with a guaranteed minimum 40-hour contract.
In addition to your salary, you'll receive £25 for every night out.
The Role
As part of our transport team, you will:
- Operate the company's articulated HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carry out collections and deliveries across the UK.
- Work Monday to Friday with regular nights away.
- Start between 5:00am and 7:00am, depending on the route and operational requirements.
- Complete electronic collection notes and associated paperwork accurately.
- Represent Shred Station professionally when dealing with customers and site staff.
- Maintain high standards of driving, safety and customer service.
- Work independently while remaining part of a wider transport team.
Main Duties
- Drive company articulated vehicles safely, legally and professionally.
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.
- Carry out collections and deliveries efficiently and within agreed schedules.
- Ensure all loads are transported safely and securely.
- Complete electronic collection notes using company systems.
- Comply with all DVSA regulations, Drivers' Hours legislation, the Working Time Directive and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and roadworthy vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with the Operations Team regarding routes, delays, customer requirements and any operational issues.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety, as well as the safety of colleagues, customers and members of the public.
- Undertake any training required to carry out the role safely and effectively.
What You'll Need
- Valid Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 1 articulated driving experience.
- Previous tramping or nights-away experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Physically fit and able to undertake the requirements of the role.
- Comfortable working away from home Monday to Friday.
Security Screening
Due to the nature of our business, successful applicants will be required to complete security screening to BS7858 standards, including:
- Five-year employment and residence history check.
- DBS check.
- Financial history check.
Additional security vetting, including checks by UK Police Forces and up to UK Government Security Clearance (SC) level, may also be required depending on customer requirements.

Experience
- HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving: 1 year (preferred)
- Articulated vehicle driving experience: preferred
- Tramping / nights-away experience: preferred
