Job Purpose
The Nursery Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the nursery. The successful candidate will ensure that all areas are cleaned to a high standard, helping to provide a healthy and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Vacuum carpets and floor surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors as required.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks, and washroom facilities.
- Dust and clean shelves, furniture, and nursery equipment.
- Carry out enhanced cleaning of high-touch areas, including door handles, light switches, and other frequently used surfaces.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are used safely and stored securely.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists accurately.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to management.
- Follow nursery health and safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Desirable Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, childcare, educational, or similar environment.
- Experience working as a key holder.
Additional Information
- This role may involve working alone and carrying out key-holder duties.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme registration.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
