Baker Street Nursery and Preschool is a family-run, supportive setting where we genuinely care about our staff, our children, and their development. We are looking for a warm, nurturing, and dedicated Baby Room Practitioner and Pre-school Practitioner to join our team and play a vital role in caring for and supporting our youngest children at the very start of their learning journey.
About the Role
Working in our Baby/Pre-school room is a special and important responsibility. You will:
- Provide a caring, safe, and stimulating environment where children feel secure and loved.
- Support the earliest stages of learning and development, focusing on communication, physical skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Build strong bonds with babies and their families, ensuring a continuity of care and trust.
- Work as part of a close-knit team, following the babies’ routines while introducing engaging play opportunities.
- Observe, plan, and record children’s development in line with the EYFS.
- Create a warm, nurturing atmosphere where every baby is valued and encouraged to thrive.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Recent experience working with babies in an early years setting.
- A genuine passion for nurturing and supporting children in their earliest years.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Preferred:
- A full and relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or 3).
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development, particularly in the 0–2 age range.
- Enthusiasm for professional development and reflective practice.
