Job Description:
This role may particularly suit individuals seeking supplementary work alongside existing employment, those returning to the sector, or experienced residential childcare professionals looking for greater flexibility.

As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Provide consistent, nurturing, and therapeutic care within a warm and supportive home environment
- Build positive relationships that support emotional understanding, resilience, and growth
- Support young people with education, daily routines, hobbies, and community activities
- Work collaboratively as part of a reflective and supportive team
- Contribute to recording, safeguarding, and care planning in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Provide flexible cover for planned leave, training, sickness, and additional staffing requirements
To maintain familiarity, consistency, and positive relationships with the children, successful applicants will be expected to work a minimum of two shifts per month.
The Ideal Candidate
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who can demonstrate:
- A sound understanding of the Children Act 1989 and Children's Homes Regulations & Quality Standards (2015)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (achieved or willingness to work towards)
- At least 12 months' experience working with children in residential care or supporting vulnerable young people
- A genuine interest in promoting emotional wellbeing and therapeutic practice
- The ability to act as a safe, inspiring, and consistent role model
- Emotional resilience, adaptability, and a calm, reflective approach under pressure
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and sleeping nights
- A positive, solution-focused approach with a "can-do" mindset
