The Appointment
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide efficient administrative support with a particular focus on assisting the Sports Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment, is detail-oriented, and can manage a variety of administrative tasks effectively.
The post-holder will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day administration and will support the coordination of sporting fixtures, events, communications and records.
Job Title: Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Reporting to: Head
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
General Administration:
- To provide general administrative support to the school office and wider team.
- To manage email correspondence and distribute information as required.
- To maintain accurate records and filing systems, both electronic and paper based.
- To prepare letters, forms, reports and other documentation.
- To assist with data entry and updating school databases.
- To handle photocopying, scanning and document preparation.
- To support the organisation of meetings and events where required.
Sports Department Support:
- To assist with the administration and organisation of sports fixtures, tournaments and events.
- To maintain sports calendars, schedules and fixture information.
- To prepare and distribute communications to parents, staff and visiting schools regarding sporting activities.
- To update and maintain team lists, transport arrangements and consent records.
- To support the recording and reporting of sports results and achievements.
- To assist with ordering and maintaining sports-related resources and equipment records.
- To liaise with staff regarding sporting events and administration requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential
- Previous administrative experience.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Professional, friendly and approachable manner.
Desirable
- Experience working within a school or educational setting.
- An interest in sport and an understanding of school sports administration.
- Experience using school management information systems.

Terms and Conditions:
- Hours of work are 6 hours per week hours to be worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9.00am – 11.00am, although we can offer some flexibility for the right candidate.
Pay: £14.24 per hour
