For almost 200 years, UCL Laws has been one of the leading centres of legal education in the world. Recognised as offering an outstanding educational experience to our students, we combine a strong theoretical foundation in the law with practical teaching from world-leading academics and practitioners.
Underpinned by the ethos of an inclusive law school, the Faculty’s Outreach and Admissions Team manages all student recruitment and admissions activities and leads on widening participation strategy.
We are looking to appoint an Outreach and Admissions Assistant, as a key member of the Faculty of Laws Education and Student Experience team. The role provides administrative assistance in support of the delivery of an effective student recruitment and admissions service for taught programmes, providing flexible support across the Outreach and Admissions Team’s remit to ensure smooth, high-quality experiences for prospective and incoming students.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting outreach activities, enquiry handling and application processing, and updating records. They will liaise with prospective students and their representatives, as well as academic staff in the Faculty, and professional services staff both in Laws and the central UCL admission teams.
This role is offered on a full-time basis, fixed term until 31 July 2027.
This role does not meet the requirements for a Skilled worker visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require a right to work in the UK.
The successful candidate should have qualifications commensurate with education to GCSE level or equivalent, and excellent IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of using databases. As a strong team player, the Outreach and Admissions Assistant will have good interpersonal skills, with a tactful and diplomatic approach to communication.
With a commitment to high-quality service provision, the successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be able to prioritise work to meet service standards under pressure, and complete high-volume tasks to consistently high standards of speed and accuracy.
