Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee and optimise the maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all plant equipment through effective management, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance programmes. Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance activities across all plant machinery and systems to minimise downtime.
- Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure high standards of work.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer specifications and operational demands.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Manage projects related to equipment upgrades, repairs, or installations, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Oversee the utilisation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems optimisation.
- Analyse equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment history for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during all maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Proven management experience with a strong background in supervising maintenance teams within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrable project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, schematics, and automation controls including PLCs.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills to oversee maintenance programmes effectively.
- Previous experience in managing maintenance operations with a focus on reliability-centred practices.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is essential for diagnosing and resolving diverse technical issues.
- Fluency in English is required for clear communication across teams and documentation purposes.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering or technical fields are preferred; certifications in management or project management are advantageous.
