Do you love books?
We're looking for a friendly, organised volunteer to help us sort and organise donated books that support our charity.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being surrounded by books and would like to use their organisational skills to make a real difference in the local community.
Whether you're a retired librarian, teacher, administrator, charity shop volunteer, or simply an enthusiastic reader, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Sorting donated books into categories
- Organising books onto shelves
- Checking the condition of donated books
- Helping keep our book storage area tidy and organised
- Identifying interesting or valuable donations where appropriate
- Working alongside our friendly volunteer team
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about books and reading
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Happy working independently or as part of a team
- Able to lift boxes of books occasionally (where comfortable to do so)

About us
Chester and District Federation of the Blind has been supporting people living with sight loss across Cheshire for many years. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, helping us provide friendship, activities and practical support that reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
