Our client requires a Junior Buyer to join their team in Lytham
Job Overview:
The Junior Buyer plays an integral role in the company's manufacturingoperation andis responsible for executing the company's purchasing strategy. As the day to daypoint of contact for suppliers it is their job to work closely with all the relevant
departments to ensure a smooth flow of goods and ,maintain a string paperwork trail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering and ensuring the integrity of all current and future purchasing SOPs
- Work with the Production Planner to understand6 week production planand place orders in
advance to ensure stock (raw materials and components) arrives in time
- Ensure all purchase orders placed have been signed off correctly in accordance with
purchasing SOP's before passing to the Office Administrator to file and confirm
- Develop and maintain a master supplier database ensuring all details are up to date,
including but not limited to key contact details, payment terms, minimum order quantities
and product lead times
- Develop a 'Just in Time' programme with all major suppliers, ensuring that we are neither
stockpiling nor running out of product
Additional Duties:
The post holder may be required to:
- Work additional hours to meet the needs of the business
- Attend staff meetings and training as needed
- Travel to other sites as needed
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope and purpose of the jobs as requested
by the group buyer

The job will initially be on a temporary contract but will become a permanent position for the right person.
