About The Role
Our Soho flagship Café is where the Cutter & Squidge brand comes to life. Far beyond a traditional cake and coffee spot, Soho is an experiential hub known for signature Afternoon Teas, immersive brand collaborations, and high-impact events. It’s the benchmark for our customer experience and the creative engine behind our nationwide marketing. As Store & Café Manager, you won't just run a store, you'll lead the key experience that defines our brand.
As our Store & Café Manager, you'll own the day-to-day operations and be accountable for the performance of our Retail Café in Soho. Including the P&L, brand standards, the team and the overall experience every customer has. This role is ideal for someone who wants to help take our customer experience to the next level. You'll also be expected to:
- Own the café's P&L, staying accountable for labour, stock, wastage, and sales performance against budget.
- Deploy your team against forecasted volume each week, planning proactively for peaks, brand activations/collaborations and seasonal swings.
- Manage stock, supplier ordering and merchandising across our retail counter, drinks service and gifting range.
- Retain, train and coach your team, plus the day-to-day people management that comes with managing a team.
- Set the standard for what "good" looks like on site, with clear expectations and fair, consistent management.
- Lead your team from the floor, building a team culture based on mutual respect and shared pride in the work.
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards at all times.
- Ensure that our afternoon tea offerings are executed as best in class, as well as other customer experiences.
- Support on-site content shoots, brand activations and events alongside our marketing team.
- Report into the COO/Co-Founder on sales, stock and team performance.
- Keep the store secure and act as a genuine brand ambassador, on the floor and beyond it.
- Work with Support Centre teams to implement new campaigns.
About You
- Minimum 2 years' food hospitality experience, including at least 1 year in a senior management position.
- Comfortable owning a P&L and commercially accountable for a site's performance.
- A natural people person who can lead, motivate and develop your team.
- Hands-on. You lead by doing, not just delegating.
- Organised, with strong time management and a genuine eye for detail.
- Comfortable with EPOS systems, stock management systems, scheduling, and everyday use of Google Suite.
- A confident communicator who can talk customers through our products and the story behind them along with dealing with any difficult or unhappy customers in a kind manner.
- Someone who thrives in a busy environment and genuinely enjoys food, cake and hospitality.
- Reliable, dedicated and happy to take proactive ownership.
- A personal alcohol licence is a plus, but not essential. We're happy to support you through this if needed.
