Fish Monger:
Due to an expanding business, we have an opportunity for an experienced fishmonger to join our small friendly team in our farm shop.
The Role:
- Handling wet fish, including filleting and preparing fish to customer requirements
- Support the shop manager and team to prepare and display an attractive fish display throughout the day
- Delivering excellent, genuine, and friendly customer service
- Receiving deliveries and putting stock away
- Stocking fridges and shelves
- Reducing waste and maintaining high product quality
- Constantly cleaning and keeping the shop tidy
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Working closely with the management team on a daily basis
Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience working with fish in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
- Good level of English
- Confident and comfortable dealing with customers
- Easy-going attitude with a strong work ethic
- Passionate about food, particularly fish
- Keen to learn and develop new skills
- Not afraid of getting messy – this is hands-on work
