Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented shift Transport Planner to join our team. Working a continental shift pattern: Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun. Week 2 - Weds, Thurs 6am - 6pm. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transportation routes and ensuring efficient logistics operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Transport Planner will work closely with various departments to enhance our transport strategies and improve service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient transport plans that meet operational requirements.
- Analyse transportation data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Manage relationships with external transport providers and negotiate contracts as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on transport operations, including cost analysis and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards in all transport activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to align transport strategies with overall business objectives.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to drive projects forward and manage teams effectively.
- High level of computer literacy, including experience with transport management software or IT systems relevant to logistics operations.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
