Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Builder/Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with various building projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for construction and hands-on work to develop their skills across multiple trades within a dynamic environment. All positions are paid, including internships, and prior experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Duties
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting, and finishing work
- Support roofing installations and repairs
- Carry out construction painting to prepare surfaces and ensure quality finishes
- Assist with plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks
- Perform masonry work including bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing
- Support welding operations and fabrication tasks as required
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to complete various building tasks
- Assist with electrical work under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work site to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow instructions from supervisors to meet project deadlines and specifications
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in carpentry, roofing, or general construction is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Knowledge of construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, fabrication, or use of hand and power tools is desirable
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks across various trades within the construction environment
