We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable and caring Housekeeper who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining exceptional standards.
Job Purpose
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across Overley Hall's residential homes, educational facilities, offices and communal areas.
Working as part of the Housekeeping Team, the post holder will contribute to creating environments that are safe, welcoming and homely whilst ensuring compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, safeguarding and organisational standards.
This role requires an individual who is organised, takes pride in their work, demonstrates excellent attention to detail and recognises that every interaction contributes to the experience of the children, young people, adults, families and professionals who visit Overley Hall.
Key Responsibilities
As a Housekeeper, you will help create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the children, young people, adults, visitors and colleagues at Overley Hall.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, lounges, classrooms, offices and communal spaces to a high standard.
- Carrying out routine and deep cleaning in line with cleaning schedules.
- Supporting with laundry duties where required, including washing, drying and ironing.
- Following infection prevention, health and safety and COSHH procedures.
- Using cleaning equipment and products safely and reporting any maintenance issues, hazards or stock shortages.
- Working closely with colleagues across the organisation to maintain high standards and support the wider team.
- Treating everyone with dignity, respect and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality.
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns appropriately.
- Attending training, team meetings and undertaking any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Person Specification Essential
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Reliable, organised and able to work using your own initiative.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Desirable
- Experience working within education, healthcare or residential care.
- Knowledge of COSHH and infection prevention procedures.
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment.
