We’re looking for a reliable and compassionate Auxiliary Veterinary Nurse to join the team at Woodcroft Veterinary Group on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Woodcroft Veterinary Group is a large, established veterinary group with a busy multi-disciplinary referral hospital, emergency and out-of-hours service, and several first-opinion practices across Stockport and South Manchester.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a busy veterinary environment, working alongside our Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Surgeons and wider clinical team.
What will you be doing?
As an Auxiliary Veterinary Nurse, you’ll play an important role in supporting the nursing and clinical teams and helping us provide excellent care to our patients.
Your duties will include:
- Providing hands-on care and support for inpatients
- Assisting Registered Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Surgeons with patient care
- Feeding, walking and monitoring patients
- Cleaning and maintaining kennels, wards and clinical areas
- Restocking clinical areas and maintaining stock levels
- Supporting with patient handling and restraint
- Helping to maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control
- Carrying out other general nursing support duties as required
No two days are quite the same, and you’ll be working as part of a friendly and supportive team in a busy clinical environment.
The Rota
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract working a 7 days on / 7 days off pattern.
- 7 days on / 7 days off
- 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Includes weekends as part of the rota
- Full-time hours
The 7-on/7-off pattern offers a great balance of work and time off, while providing consistency for both you and the team.

- Keen to learn and develop their veterinary nursing skills
Previous experience working in a veterinary practice or animal care environment would be beneficial, but we’re also happy to consider candidates who can demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic and experience with animals.
