We are expanding our team and looking for a part-time Kitchen Assistant to join us. Some relevant Kitchen or Catering experience is required but you will be fully trained in all aspects of our operation and supported by experienced staff.
If you have a valid (passed in the last 3 years) Food Hygiene Certificate this would be a great bonus.
Working a minimum of 3 days a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, your hours will be around 20 per week.
Flexibility is a key requirement, as you will be needed to cover holidays and other absences.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef or kitchen supervisor
· Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work area
· Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware
· Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
· Help with inventory management, stock labelling, and stock rotation
· Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
· Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure customer orders are prepared quickly and accurately
· Assist when needed with front-of-house duties, such as taking out orders, clearing tables, cleaning, and generally helping out
Experience and Skills:
· Friendly and helpful character with a willingness to learn and take direction from others
· Previous similar experience in a kitchen environment is ESSENTIAL
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing your work and multi-tasking
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Great communication skills and able to work in a team
· Flexibility to cover extra shifts
· Ability to cover other stations in the kitchen – training will be given
Days and Hours:
· 3 days a week minimum
· Hours will be around 20 per week
· Usual start time of 9am (8am/8.30am if covering for another staff member)
· Finish time 3.30pm (Mon-Fri) and 4pm (Sat/Sun)
· 30 minute unpaid break
· Although this role is for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 3 days a week you must be available to work any day of the week as you will be needed to cover for others - please do not apply unless you can confirm you are available every day
· Will include weekend days every week
