Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to inspire and educate students across various age groups. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a flair for creative teaching, and experience working with children. This role involves delivering engaging dance lessons that promote physical activity, creativity, and confidence in a supportive environment. Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons tailored to students’ skill levels and interests
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and enjoyment
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
- Incorporate elements of physical education, creative writing, and behaviour management techniques into lessons where appropriate
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special educational needs or disabilities
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and behavioural observations
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content and organise performances or showcases
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student achievements and areas for development
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and manage behaviour effectively
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching dance or physical education, preferably with children or young learners
- Knowledge of special education needs and strategies for working with children with behavioural or developmental challenges
- Experience in tutoring or childcare settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to manage behaviour positively and constructively in a classroom environment
- Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous
- Skills in proofreading or creating educational materials can be beneficial for lesson planning and resource development
