Are you a passionate and resilient PE Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people?
We are working with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who have been unable to access mainstream education and require a more tailored, nurturing approach to learning.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging PE lessons that promote physical wellbeing, confidence, teamwork, and positive behaviour while helping students develop essential life skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Adapt learning to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH, behavioural needs, ADHD, Autism, and other additional needs.
- Foster positive relationships and act as a positive role model for young people.
- Support students in developing resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Contribute to behaviour management strategies and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- QTS
- Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
- Experience working within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEN setting, or with students displaying challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve positive outcomes.
